XL Smoker Charcoal Barbecue (Ultimate Bundle)

I’ve waited a month before reviewing because we wanted to get more of a feel for it but I’m happy to say it’s a brilliant piece of kit! We bought the extra cast iron shelves and once treated properly (bit of a faff but absolutely worth the extra effort to do it properly!) there’s no cleaning, and food that does stick comes off straight away. The BBQ looks lovely, the side shelves and hooks are very practical, and it’s easy to empty out the pan once it’s cooled. All round very sturdy and so easy to use we keep setting it up for just the two of us on a week night, we also had a party and easily catered for 15 people. We haven’t used it as a smoker yet but the lid closes with a good seal so I don’t expect any issues. It’s great value for money and exactly what we’ve been looking for.

On first use, I partial loaded the barbecue with charcoal, had all vents open and the barbecue was placed in the middle of a clear, open patio.

After first use I noticed that the black finish was starting to peel off the hood, front panel, right panel, rear panel, door and top of the frame. In addition, one of the rubber feet on the hood had melted off and the vents on left and right panel are now seized in the open position.

As the barbecue is not of satisfactory quality, I contacted CosmoGrill support and requested a full refund per Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Instead of providing a full refund, CosmoGrill blamed the issue on me, saying I allowed the barbecue to get too hot! It’s ridiculous to say the barbecue was too hot, the product is simply not fit for purpose.

I’ve now made a claim for a refund through my credit card provider.

We ordered the XL smoker BBQ for a party we were hosting. When placing our order we chose to order a bundle deal; which included a cover; smoking chip holder + additional rack along with the BBQ. When placing the order it stated our delivery would be prior to our event date; so was confident no issues would occur. I received a message to state that our delivery would be through Evre and that the confirmed delivery would be the Friday. When the date came I received a message to state that my delivery would not be until 15:15-16:15 so I know I would be out in the morning but would be back with sufficient time. I returned home after being out in the morning; just after 12:30 to state that I missed my delivery from Evre and to re schedule. When I went to reschedule my delivery it gave me the earliest date being the Monday (after we were due to host our event); however if I paid an additional £5 I could get VIP delivery for the Saturday which I proceeded to purchase. Later on in the afternoon I then received 2 further deliveries; the cover, grill and smoking unit...which when I checked the track my delivery all my messages related to those prices and not the BBQ. Why when you order a bundle do you get everything separately? If this is how you despatch your goods you should allow your customers to track every single parcel. Very frustrating! We are happy with the BBQ

Easy to put together, 1 screw didn’t line up with hole , but not the end of the world , got the cast iron grills with the bbq , one of the bars has a crack in it .
